Canandaigua Goes Hollywood

Canandaigua is getting its 15 minutes of fame! The city and surrounding area is going to be the new home base for upcoming movie Mud Jumper, which is written and produced by Canandaigua native, Eric Blazak. The movie is focused around main character Ship Mitchell, who’s a Manhattan native, and is relocated to the quiet, and unfamiliar,  serenity of Upstate New York’s picturesque town of Canandaigua. Feeling like a fish out of water, Ship struggles with abandonment by his wife and children who leave him alone in a town he does not know. Determined not to leave his children, Ship strives to redefine himself and become a better man. Wick-edly Sent was asked to put together gift baskets for the movies cast members, which include Megan Fox, who became famous through her work in the movie Transformers and Adrien Brody, who is known for his work in  The Pianist. We were more than delighted to create something special for the actors and included in the baskets many of our own products as well as items from other local businesses, keeping in mind to cater to the individuals tastes.                            Keep a look out for Mud Jumpers release sometime next year and make sure that you see Wickedly Sent’s big screen mention in the credit reel! For more information on the movie Mud Jumpers visit their website...

Charley’s Aunt at Bristol Valley Theater

The Bristol Valley Theater, located in Naples, NY is the central Finger Lakes live professional venue. They are continuing their 2011 summer season with the side stitching performance of Charley’sAunt, which runs from July 21st to July 31st. Charley’s Aunt follows the misadventures of Charley and Jack, two Oxford students who are in love and wish to propose to their lovely ladies. Trouble arrises though with the delay of Charley’s Aunt. Without a proper chaperone, Jack and Charley come up with a plan with the help of their friend, eccentric school chum, Lord Fancourt Babberly, who is enlisted to impersonate the old lady. Naturally, their deception soon spirals out of control with a series of hilarious events. Defiantly a must see! Wick-edly Sent is always a supporter of the arts and recently donated a door prize to the Bristol Valley Theater specifically for the arrival of the performance of Charley’s Aunt. Keeping with the humor and theme, the gift basket contained an array of British inspired goodies including plum pudding, Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry, a $40 gift certificate to Nolan’s on Canandaigua Lake, and white tea scented bath and body...

Going Green with the NRDC

Using sustainable materials and supporting organizations that fight to protect our environment are important in the quest for a greener society. Here at Wick-edly Sent we are doing just that with our recent membership and charitable donation to the Natural Resources Defense Council. The NRDC is the nations most effective non-profit environmental action organization. Their focus is to restore the integrity of Earth’s air, land, and water while also defending our endangered animals and Eco-systems. As an institution they have six main priorities that they focus on. One of these is to curb global warming and create a clean energy future. Renewable power, conservation and clean fuel cells are a few of the solutions that will reduce the impacts on our environment. The goal is to protect nature in ways that advance the long-term welfare of our present and future generations. Donations from their members and proceeds from charitable events is what provides the NRDC with the funding that they greatly need to accomplish these goals. Here at Wick-edly Sent we are taking additional strides to make our business and products environmentally friendly. We do not test on animals and we use all natural ingredients to create our olive oil soaps, soy candles and bath & body products. All of our gift boxes and bags are also made with recycled materials. Although these “green” practices may seem small, they provide a huge decrease in our foot print, which ultimately contributes to a healthier Earth and all those who inhabit it.Together we can make a difference! For more ways that you can go green, check out this great...
